What we do

Heating and cooling, done right

If it heats or cools your home, we handle it — repairs, replacements, and the tune-ups that keep it all running.

AC repair

Blowing warm, freezing up, or short-cycling in the heat? We find the real cause — low charge, bad capacitor, dirty coil — and fix it, instead of jumping straight to "you need a new system."

Heating & furnace repair

No heat, weak heat, or a furnace that won't stay on. We diagnose it safely — including cracked heat exchangers and CO risks — and get you warm again, most jobs same day.

AC installation & replacement

When repair stops making sense, we size the new system properly for your home and walk you through the efficiency options. Clear quote before any work starts — free estimate on replacements.

Furnace & heating replacement

High-efficiency furnaces installed clean and to code, matched to your home — not oversized to pad the bill. We'll show you the honest payback on efficiency before you decide.

Maintenance & tune-ups

Spring AC and fall furnace tune-ups that catch small problems before they leave you without heat or cooling. Ask about our maintenance plan — two visits a year, priority service, no breakdown surprises.

Heat pumps & mini-splits

One system that heats and cools — great for additions, rooms that never stay comfortable, or a whole-home upgrade. We handle the rebate paperwork and tell you honestly if it fits your home.

Why folks in Columbus call us back

I'm Ryan Becker, and I've been working on heating and cooling systems in Columbus for 16 years. I started Rush Hours 5 HVAC because I was tired of watching big outfits scare people into new systems they didn't need.

Here's how we do it: we show up when we say we will, we explain what's actually wrong in plain language, and we give you the price before we start — not after. If your system's got good years left, we'll fix it and tell you so, even when a replacement would pay us more. That's the whole reason most of our work comes from neighbors telling neighbors.

How it works

Straightforward, every time

1

You book or call

Pick a time above or call (614) 555-0173. Tell us roughly what's going on — "AC's blowing warm," "furnace won't kick on" — that's all we need to get rolling.

2

We look and we quote

We come out, diagnose the real problem, and give you a clear price up front — plus an honest repair-or-replace answer. You decide before any work starts.

3

We fix it right

We do the job clean, test it, and leave your place the way we found it — minus the problem. Most repairs are done same day.

No surprise charges. No pressure. If it's not worth replacing, we'll say so.

"AC was freezing up every afternoon. They found a low charge and a dirty coil instead of pushing a whole new system. Honest about what was actually wrong."

The questions everyone asks

Free estimate on replacements · you approve the price first
Do you charge for an estimate?
Estimates on a new system or replacement are free — we come out, look at your setup, and give you a price with no obligation. For a repair, there's a small diagnostic fee to find the problem (see below), and we credit it toward the work if you hire us.
Is there a service call fee?
There's an $89 diagnostic fee to come out and figure out what's actually wrong — and we credit it toward your repair if you hire us. So if we do the work, the visit's effectively free.
What will the job cost?
Every home and system's different, so the honest answer is "we'll confirm once we see it." But to give you a ballpark from similar jobs around Columbus:
  • AC repair about $150–$650
  • Furnace repair about $150–$700
  • System replacement (AC or furnace) about $5,500–$11,000
  • Seasonal tune-up $99, or $16/mo on the maintenance plan (covers both visits)
Most repairs take 1–2 hours; a full system swap is usually a day.
These are guides, not quotes — we confirm the exact price before we start, and you approve it first.
Should I repair or replace my system?
Depends on age, the repair cost, and efficiency. A rough rule: under about 10 years and a small fix, repair almost always wins. Past 15 years with a big-ticket repair, replacement usually makes more sense. We'll lay out both numbers honestly — including the energy savings — and let you decide. We won't push a new system on a unit that's got good years left.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Ohio HVAC license #HV.48291, NATE-certified and EPA-certified technicians, fully insured. Happy to show proof on request.
Do you handle no-heat and no-cooling emergencies?
Yes. No heat in a cold snap, no cooling in a heat wave — call (614) 555-0173 and we'll get to you fast, including after hours. Book a time above for anything that can wait for the next open slot, often same day.
